Why did you decide to become a physician?

I chose medicine because I was exposed to it from a young age: both my parents were doctors. I love the fact that medicine is both an art and a science. I think it’s the perfect tool for helping people when they need it most.

What are your clinical areas of interest?

My areas of interest are cancer of the breast, head & neck, gynecologic, prostate and lung.

What is your philosophy of patient care?

The doctor needs to inform, educate and explain. He or she should take into account the patient’s value system, social situation, overall health, and expectations. There is always reason for hope, and a positive attitude can often lift a patient’s spirits.

How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)

I enjoy spending time at home and going out with my wife and young son. I like to read and watch movies (and of course, Husker football).

My wife and I met in a bookstore.
