As I was growing up, I was always the one who took care of my friends and family members' cuts, scrapes, burns and bruises. I guess it was just natural for me to go into medicine and I never really considered doing anything else.
What are your clinical areas of interest?
I enjoy taking care of all ages with a wide variety of health concerns. I do a lot of pediatrics and women's health care in my practice. I also enjoy emergency medicine and work part time at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.
What is your philosophy of patient care?
I believe in being a health care partner with my patients. I encourage questions, ideas and opinions from my patients as I appreciate patients who actively participate in managing their health.
How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)
I enjoy spending time with my husband and our children. We love family vacations and adventures. Our oldest son is a 7th grader and is in soccer and band. Our daughter loves music, is in dance and just started kindergarten. Our youngest son is a very busy toddler. In my spare time, I enjoy movies, reading, crossword puzzles and crafts.
Provide an interesting anecdote about you.
I was a registered nurse for seven years before I became a physician's assistant.
