What made you choose a medical career?

I spent several years working in wellness and as a personal trainer. I saw people with conditions or problems beyond my skill level and wanted to become more knowledgeable so I could treat a variety of populations.

What are your clinical areas of interest?

I am most interested in the back and neck and have been trained extensively in that area, but all areas of orthopedics are of interest.

What is your philosophy of patient care?

I try to educate patients and make them active participants in their rehab efforts.

How do you spend your free time? (family, hobbies, interests, volunteer activities, etc.)

I teach fitness classes, practice yoga and do gardening. I also assist in teaching students enrolled in the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at Nebraska Methodist College - The Josie Harper Campus.

Provide an interesting anecdote about you.

It was three weeks before my fiancé's birthday and I wanted to surprise him. I was having some problems coming up with ideas, then it hit me... throw a surprise wedding. We had been engaged for over 6 years and just never got around to planning anything. So, I enlisted the help of my parents and a few friends. I got the wedding license, cake, flowers, dress, rings, tent, tables and linens and wedding official all within the three weeks and without him finding out. Surprise! And he was.
